Running in Huaraches.

The last couple of weeks I have been running in my huaraches, from Invisible Shoe.    It has taken sometime, but I am really starting to feel comfortable running in them.   No doubt running huaraches is the ultimate minimal running footwear, I am a fan of Vibram Five Fingers, but huaraches are even better.  I love the freedom the huaraches give me feet,  the toes can totally splay out without being restricted.   So far I have been running in the huaraches without socks.

I took an interesting run a few nights ago after my night class.   I got home around 10:30pm, changed, and out the door.   I ran a 5 miler, by mile 3 I couldn’t wait to get home, just by gauging how my feet were reacting to the cold I knew it had to be really freezing.  I didn’t check the temps, nor did I know how cold it was before the run.   It was 16 degrees, and I ran without socks, my feet totally got numb by mile 4.  I was slowly warming them up in my comfy fuzzy Ugg slippers, my pinky toe on my left foot was concerning me.  It was totally white compared to my other toes, and was not warming up.  I went to bed with it still freezing, it didn’t fall off at night, so it’s all good.

First snow of the season. My son and I at the finish of the 5 mile Turkey Trot Rusty as a bag of nails, but it’s a good outlet. 5 mile Turkey Trot tradition. 20+ years running this race with my sister. My son made his debut today, fantastic job! Deadlifts. This was my last set of 225lbs, a new PR.

Had my son Andrew @parkor_boy23 filming and working out with me as well. Finally Optimal Nutrition comes out with a plant based protein.  Most protein powder has a lot of garbage in it, artificial flavors, gluten, dextrin, soy etc. which I try to avoid. I’m not a Vegan/Vegetarian but like a clean supplement. The taste is spot on. Not grainy or “earthy” tasting.  Very happy with this.

I don’t have heat In my garage it was a crisp 32 degrees, but don’t mind.  Some benefits of having a home gym is no travel time, no people, and you can wear your comfies.
This was my last set of benching at 170lbs Fall fun.
