10.7miles – Huaraches – Very tiring run.

For the past week I have not been sleeping well.  I have been averaging anywhere from 5 to 4 hours of sleep,  I just do not function well when i don’t get a sufficient amount of sleep. Between the holidays and layoffs with work it has been a fun yet stressful week, luckily my job was safe. In the mist of the chaos at work I actually got a promotion, so there has been a lot on my mind.  God has truly been showing his grace to me, praise you Lord!

Today I was planning on running 13 miles, didn’t happen.   It was warm, 40 degrees, but very damp and wet.  I wore my huaraches from invisible shoe.   I only put 32 miles on the huaraches but just can not get used to them, they fit fine, I run in them fine, but just something about them.   I felt like a total zombie during the run, my pace was 9:44,  I have not ran that slow in maybe forever!  But I feel it’s good to be out there getting through a run that is not going well at all. I believe it builds some mental and physical advantages in the long run.

First snow of the season. My son and I at the finish of the 5 mile Turkey Trot Rusty as a bag of nails, but it’s a good outlet. 5 mile Turkey Trot tradition. 20+ years running this race with my sister. My son made his debut today, fantastic job! Deadlifts. This was my last set of 225lbs, a new PR.

Had my son Andrew @parkor_boy23 filming and working out with me as well. Finally Optimal Nutrition comes out with a plant based protein. Most protein powder has a lot of garbage in it, artificial flavors, gluten, dextrin, soy etc. which I try to avoid. I’m not a Vegan/Vegetarian but like a clean supplement. The taste is spot on. Not grainy or “earthy” tasting. Very happy with this.
#optimumnutrition First cold barefoot run of the season. 25F and the sun was shining, felt good.

I don’t have heat In my garage it was a crisp 32 degrees, but don’t mind. Some benefits of having a home gym is no travel time, no people, and you can wear your comfies.
This was my last set of benching at 170lbs Fall fun.
