I ran 11 miles in sprints, then at mile 11 took off the footwear and ran the rest of the 5 miles barefoot. As soon as I took off the footwear I knocked off about 4 minutes for each mile 11 to 16. It was awesome running barefoot with tons of snow still out, the streets were cleared. I hit some pretty beat up gnarly roads, but handled it fine.
I was really surprised that I didn’t lose any conditioning in the two months that I was in footwear. As of now I am done with footwear, unless we get another snowstorm or below freezing temps.
