In last semester of College – Senior

Right now I am in my last semester of College, I will be walking in May, but need to take a summer course to complete my degree.  I can live with that.  With working full-time, and fitting in family time,  this has been the hardest thing I have ever done, way more difficult than running a marathon, or any type of physical activity.  I would rather endure physical challenges than be in school, or write a paper. 

For the last 3 1/2 years I have been going to college at night pursuing my bachelors degree, I was out of school for 15 years and going back was a huge step for me.  I am not fond of school, I will be honest.  I have to thank my wife for pushing me to go back and get my degree.

I got a bit overwhelmed the other day because I am taking 3 classes instead of the normal 2, and was thinking about bailing out on the marathon I am running in May.  Training has taken a nose dive, and honestly the stress of this marathon is getting to me.  But I decided screw conventional marathon training, and see what happens with low mileage training.  

In all honestly I can’t wait until the marathon is over, looking forward to running it, but can’t wait to relax, run for enjoyment again, and live life without school!

First snow of the season. My son and I at the finish of the 5 mile Turkey Trot Rusty as a bag of nails, but it’s a good outlet. 5 mile Turkey Trot tradition. 20+ years running this race with my sister. My son made his debut today, fantastic job! Deadlifts. This was my last set of 225lbs, a new PR.

Had my son Andrew @parkor_boy23 filming and working out with me as well. Finally Optimal Nutrition comes out with a plant based protein.  Most protein powder has a lot of garbage in it, artificial flavors, gluten, dextrin, soy etc. which I try to avoid. I’m not a Vegan/Vegetarian but like a clean supplement. The taste is spot on. Not grainy or “earthy” tasting.  Very happy with this.

I don’t have heat In my garage it was a crisp 32 degrees, but don’t mind.  Some benefits of having a home gym is no travel time, no people, and you can wear your comfies.
This was my last set of benching at 170lbs Fall fun.
