50K Training Begins.

The week of Feb 6th is when I started my training for the 50k on May 27th.   This will give me 16 weeks of training,  I have accepted the fact that I like to have some kind of structured training plan to following when training for something.  I won’t follow it exactly, but it gives me some kind of direction, especially when it comes to the long runs. Plus it gives me some extra motivation, it can be fun training for something actually.  I always say I am just going to run and go by feel without a training plan but it just doesn’t happen for me.

For the last 3 weeks I put in 20 miles or more, so I feel good about getting a somewhat decent base in.  Due to my injury in September it was months that before I even ran 20 miles per week just until 3 weeks ago.   I am feeling really healthy and strong, which is a great feeling right now.    As far as training I will not be doing any speed work, and not even thinking about it as well.  Just want to stay healthy, put the miles in, and get to the starting line ready to go.
