Another bare 15 miler.

I ran a 15 miler barefoot with a time of 2:15:50.    My son had his first T-Ball practice at 9:00am, which was an hour then around 11:30am I hit the road for my run.  I realized the only thing I ate when I woke up was a banana, and a few bites of a left over cliff bar that my son didn’t finish.   I brought two GU’s (Vanilla Bean, the only kind of like) with me and a hand held with 20oz of water.  I never felt a loss of energy or crashing at all.  During training runs I purposely try to run on a empty stomach anyways.

I also tested out the UltrAspire Spry running vest I bought a few weeks ago, which I was very pleased with.  The vest has a perfect pouch for a smart phone, mp3 player, food, gels, etc.  I have a iPhone with case on it, it is kind of bulky and was worried that it bottom pouch would flop around, but with a few adjustments on the vest, there wasn’t any floppage issues.  It even has a big pouch on the back, a pair of Vibrams or Huaraches can slide into, not sure if they would bounce out while running, I will have to test that out at some point.  Overall very pleased with the vest.

Ran the Fairfield CT half marathon this morning. Came in with a time off 1:50:12. This was my 8th consecutive year running this race, and barefoot. My training was super light. Maybe 12-15 miles per week with no speed training, or fancy workouts, all runs were slow. I started lifting weights again, and noticed a big difference with running. The weight training is what pulled me through. The best snack/protein bar out there. Definitely no BS.
@rxbar Great Father's Day hanging at the beach. Off to Andrew's 5th grade graduation. Next stop Middle School! Showing my daughter the ropes, but kids don't need any lessons running barefoot, we are born to do it properly.

Street Art. Friday evening at the beach. My little sweetie is growing up. We were stuck in traffic and I snapped a quick picture of her and it's crazy to notice the changes of your children at certain points.
