After running the 50K in May I just couldn’t resist to run the Hartford marathon this year, it’s been a marathon I wanted to do, and since my plan is to run a marathon a year I decided to go for it.
Now the training, well I am in my first week but it’s not necessarily that marathon training you read in books or on the marathon forums, matter of fact is pretty relaxed, almost to relaxed. Since I said goodbye to the garmin, I won’t be using it during training or in the marathon. So what’s my plan, the same formula I have been using for a long time which is run 4 days a week. The 3 runs during the week I will keep anywhere between 40-60 minutes (of course if I have time to run long during the week, I will) then my long run on the weekends. Since I won’t be tracking miles I will be going by time instead. I plan on getting in three 3 hours runs between now and the marathon, the first one will be in four weeks.
