Fairfield, CT Half Marathon – 2013

I say it all the time, but I look forward to this race each year, I just love everything about it. It’s local, awesome course, it’s summertime, and the overall vibe of the race is fantastic.  This was my 5th consecutive year running it, and I achieved a personal best with a time of 1:45:56.   My goal was a solid 1:45:00, 56 seconds short but couldn’t be more happy about the performance.

The weather was hot, by 8:30am it was close to 80 degrees. (No complaints here).   I moved up really close in the corral which was the first time I ever was that close to the starting point, and let me you tell what a huge difference.  There was 5000 runners this year, and lining up where I did, I didn’t experience any of that “stop and go”.  I got to dial in to my pace instantly.   Next up, Philly marathon in November.

Heading home during my run and I see this guy standing in the middle of the road with a tripod and camera. This was about as random as you can get. Having fun on my nephews drum kit. My Crew. Snow run. A little Sunday road trip. The human flag. This a move that if you stop doing it it becomes more difficult to perform. Muddy trail run.
#shammasandals Another past time hobby of mine. This unusually warm weather wants me to dust off the longboard. A quick KB circuit. Hits the cardio as well as everything else. 50lb KB

3 Rounds as quick as possible.
2 - windmills
5 - rack squats
6 - snatches
On both right and left sides. Outside kettle bell drills. One arm snatches with a 50lb kettle bell.
