Here’s an excerpt:
The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 12,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
I was figuring out when I first ran this race and I think it was around 20 years old, now at 44 still running it. I only missed one year in those 24 years. My sister Heather actually got me into running this race, and it’s been a family tradition ever since.
This year was special, I ran with my sister and brother-in-law Sean together, usually we would do our own paces but this year wanted to stay together, it was quite enjoyable and a very nice change of pace.
It was a very cold brisk morning, 32 degrees at the start, wet roads from the rain and snow the day before. This was my first race I ran barefoot 5 years ago when I transition to barefoot running, I had to keep the tradition going. I wore my Soft Star Runamoc Dash’s to the race to keep the feet warm and they came off right at the start, I just carried them in my hand. Very fun race and hope you all had great Thanksgiving!
